What would a landscape look like if AI could dream? Japanese Artist Daiki Nishimura uses AI as an extension of his own imagination an βorgan for dreaming beyond himself.β Drawing inspiration from traditional ukiyo-e woodblock prints, he uses AI to generate imagined environments shaped by ongoing environmental change. He then brings these visions together with the plants and shifting light he observes outside his studio window, painting them onto the same canvas. The result is a layering of past, present, and futures imagined by machines. Materials are part of the landscape, too. Working across canvas, Japanese paper, and aluminium panels, Nishimura builds up layers of oil paint, mineral pigments, wax, and resin. Look closely, and the surfaces shift with the changing light, revealing new depths and textures. Y ART PROJECT in collaboration with ART SEASONS
